Michigan Promise Scholarships
The Michigan House has approved funding for the Michigan Promise Scholarships! Now it is time to advocate for the students of Michigan's Public Universities to the Michigan Senate. Please check our Facebook event (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=151587304905) for details.
New Committees
The Executive Board is proposing to create two standing Committees, the Legislative Research Committee and the SAM Standards Committee. The Legislative Research Committee is responsible for proactively bringing legislation to the SAM body and presenting it. SAM is going to stay on top of current issues so that they can inform their constituents. The SAM Standards Committee is responsible for handing out SAM Standard certificates. These will be handed out to member schools that prove they meet the requirements of a given SAM Standard.

SAM Standards
The Student Association of Michigan recently approved a new set of SAM Standards pertaining to education issues, as proposed by Grand Valley State University.
The SAM Standards are policy goals set by our member schools which tackle different issues that students in Michigan find important to them. Each standard lists different criterion that are to be met by the Michigan public universities in order to receive the SAM endorsement.
The standards are posted under the Documents tab.
